We are delighted to announce that The Veterans’ Foundation @veteransfoundation has recently awarded Mutual Support £10000 for three years (total £30000) to help us to deliver our well-being weekends to Veterans and their dependents living with MS. Our weekends help our beneficiaries to improve their mental wellbeing, relationships with others, reduce social isolation, displacement and loneliness whilst offering access to the wider support that we offer to our community. We aim to inform, engage and assist our service veterans and their families.
‘As one of the Patrons of Mutual Support and as a Clinical Neuropsychologist I believe you cannot put a price on the benefit the Support Weekends have on members. People come broken and return home whole; people come lonely and go home with friends; whole families who come fractured go home in one piece; children who come as young carers go home as themselves once more. These benefits are priceless and life affirming and life changing.’ DR ANITA ROSE. B.A. (hons), D.Clin Psy., AFBPsS, C. Psychol
As an independently funded and wholly volunteer led charity we are largely reliant on our financial benefactors. We would like to thank The Veterans’ Foundation for this award which will help to enable our important work to continue.
Stella Atherstone, Chief Operating Officer at Veterans’ Foundation said, “We are proud to grant Mutual Support this three-year funding, which will help ensure veterans and their families living with multiple sclerosis to continue to access these invaluable wellbeing weekends. The impact of these weekends in reducing isolation, strengthening relationships and improving mental wellbeing is truly inspiring. We are committed to funding organisations that make a meaningful and lasting difference to the armed forces community, and Mutual Support’s work is a powerful example of that.”
About The Veterans’ Foundation. https://www.veteransfoundation.org.uk/
Founded in 2016, The Veterans’ Foundation is a grant-giving charity dedicated to serving veterans and their communities across the UK. We back the people and organisations that understand and respond to the real challenges facing veterans, their families, and their communities.
From national charities to local community initiatives, we support projects addressing key issues such as mental health, housing, and community-based support. Together, we listen to veterans and help make an active difference in their lives. By supporting us, your donation can impact hundreds of projects across the country.
As a grant-giving organisation, we are rigorous in the projects we invest in, partnering strategically and measuring outcomes for veterans and their communities.
The Veterans’ Lottery, the UK’s largest single-cause lottery, remains the main source of funding for the Foundation’s grants programme.
